Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors in recent history. Her savacious and vulnerable roles have earned her a cult brand. Born to a renowned playwright father, but was raised by a single mom, who earned her living as a nurse, she became interested in theatre while working with her father during the summer, eventually studying acting, first in Brown University and then at Juilliard School. After just two short years following graduation the actress began her Broadway career. The following year she made her first appearance in TV and film. Her appearances have been on a variety of television, film and stage programs since. Through her entire career, she has received many awards, which includes 2 Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Yet, despite all the awards she has received the theatre is still her passion first and foremost. She has continued to appear both on screen and on stage.
