Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy-de-Domme France on 8 August 1976. She was eldest child of four. Her parents were dentists and a teacher recognised and backed her love for theatre and drama at an early age, which superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. The early success of her career and the rapid rise in fame was a sign of her development as an actor. After completing her studies, she was able to participate in Jeunes Premiers, a French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is which was run by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The result was that she decided to begin her professional acting career. Tautou is a pupil of her school at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris in her youth and studied there at an early age she has since renounced her Catholic upbringing. The actress declares herself to be non-Catholic. In addition to acting, she has also been a model and the spokesperson in the advertising campaign for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Additionally, she is a keen photographic passion and has recently produced an exhibition of her work at the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her photos are mostly about famous people and celebrities. They also feature an assortment of portraits of herself as well. Audrey Tautou's very first major part, playing Amelie Poulain's leading actor in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie poulain, earned her fame to the world. Amelie has been undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and has been lauded at numerous award events around the globe. Amelie is the highest-grossing French film on the market in US. After this huge success, Tautou was later cast in a variety of films, such as British dramatics, such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
